What sets Symprove apart?
Quality of bacteria included
The four strains in Symprove are proprietary strains and have been fully characterised by the National Collection of Industrial and Marine Bacteria (NCIMB) using the latest DNA sequencing and mass spectrometry techniques.
This provides confidence in the exact identity of the probiotic bacteria in every bottle.
Evidence for included bacteria
Evidence for the included bacteria relates to safety and history of use, as well as the effect on human health.
The ‘Lacto’ species are well recognised and accepted as safe, with inclusion in the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) ‘qualified presumption of safety (QPS)’ list.
The interactions of ‘Lacto’ species with humans in both health and disease have been extensively studied. The type of E. faecium in Symprove has a long history of safe use in foods.
Evidence for overall product
Currently, there are 15 publications in peer-reviewed journals on Symprove, including randomised controlled trials (RCTs), as well as real-world evidence and mechanistic research in the final product.
Symprove continues to collaborate with leading academic and clinical experts across the UK to run research on Symprove.
Outcomes
To date, Symprove has been proven in RCTs, with 92% of people reporting a difference in real-world.
While regulations prevent us from proactively sharing clinical study results, we can share that Symprove is the probiotic most recommended by healthcare professionals because of the strength of its evidence base1.
